The Dardos Award

Hello everyone. Welcome to a special Wednesday post. I usually take this day off, but I've really been wanting to get this done, and I have the month so chock full of goodies that I just had to do it now.

It seem the ol' Bugg has been selected for The Dardos award by our good friend Rev. Phantom over at Midnight Confessions. I want to thank him for giving me this award, and I hope I can keep the fun up around here. So what is this award, well, have some spiel.

The Dardos Award is given for recognition of cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values transmitted in the form of creative and original writing. These stamps were created with the intention of promoting fraternization between bloggers, a way of showing affection and gratitude for work that adds value to the Web. The Rules are 1) Accept the award by posting it on your blog along with the name of the person that has granted the award and a link to his/her blog.2) Pass the award to another five blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgement, remembering to contact each of them to let them know they have been selected for this award.

So now to pass on the award to some of my favorite bloggers.

Stay Right Here a While... has only been around for a couple of months but I've been a pretty religious reader ever since I found it. Steve writes about music, movies, thrift store art, or whatever pops into his head. I love his music columns, and there are very few of those I enjoy anywhere.

The Gore Gore Girl doesn't post very much, but when she does you best believe it's worth reading. This super smart chick turns the world of porn and exploitation on it's ear by examining facets of the genre few would even look at.

Internal Bleeding is one of the first sites to link The LBL even back when I knew even less about what I was doing. Their reviews are always fun and I've discovered quite a few films from reading them. Plus anyone who reviews Gymkata is OK in my book.

Horror Happenings Lisa Bee keeps her finger on the pulse of horror news and review. She has to or the blood would go everywhere. I love to read her opinions, and there was no better place to recap True Blood, I can't wait for season 2 so she can write about Sookie some more.

and finally...
The Blog of the Realm is a great site. Ryan can wax poetic about giant monsters, dissect Hammer horror, and make pulp fiction more than a film, and he'll still have enough time to don a zoot suit and swing dance. Now there's a guy who knows what's going on.

So there we are. It was hard to pick just five sites as there are so many I like to read. If it's on my blog roll on the side there folks, then it's something I recommend. I want to thank the Rev again for the award, and I'll see you folks back here for a B.L.O.G that you'll just love, everyone does after all.

  1. LB,

While I am not a big fan of the whole "chainletter - choose five others, etc" concept, I do enjoy finding out about other great blogs that are out there, and you seemed to have picked some real winners
[I am only familiar with Horror Happenings] I am on my way to check out the other four :-)

  2. Yeah I'm not a huge fan of those kind of things either, and if it had come from someone other than the Rev, I might have just let it pass on by.

However, I did feel this was a great way to give props to some great folks who have helped me along the way, and some folks that are just starting out.

I'll get around to giving you a Dardos award once I get my acceptance post up.

  5. Thank you for the award and the kind blurb. Not sure if it's against the rules to moninate someone twice, but you are being nominated again. You maintain an excellent blog.

  6. How about a special word for "the sneering (homo-phobic) snob", his comments are always clever, witty, and at times downright hilarious.

  7. thanks for the kind words everyone, your blogs are all favorites of mine so you all deserve it

as far as your comment pious atheist, well I'm sure you well know from reading the insightful commentary that he provides that a mere award would not begin to cover how much he is appreciated at the lair.
